Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning
If Your Carpet Looks Dirty: You Have Waited Too Long Before Cleaning
Carpet fiber is engineered to trap and hide dirt. It is very efficient at this task. When it is time to clean, we use and Shaw Industries recommends TWE (Truckmount Hot Water Extraction). It is the method used by the majority of cleaners nationwide. We also use dry foam extraction for hi-rise buildings that are not accessible for TWE. Residential cleaning allows for the advantage of strong suction that only a truckmount can produce. Of course the operator of the equipment as well as high quality and safe cleaning agents made specifically for carpet & upholstery can make a big difference. There are numerous misconceptions about carpet cleaning. I explain most of these in detail in my
Carpet Cleaning and Care articles. Beware of cleaning ads that use “dry cleaning” terminology. There is no dry cleaning solvent made for carpet cleaning other than spotting solution. Dry Powder Cleaning does marginal work. Do not fall for the myth that carpet should not be cleaned, or that water damages carpet, unless you want to have your carpets useful life greatly reduced and your indoor air quality compromised.
